Just favorite an existing contact on Facebook, Instagram, Flickr, Picasa, Tumblr, Picplz and 500px (the star on the left of the name of the contact), and you will be notified by email on a daily basis as soon as this contact adds new photos on the corresponding service. In this way, you won’t miss any new photos of your close friends and you won’t need to switch between your different photo applications anymore.

In the same way, you are notified when new photos of your favorite band or celebrity are added on the Facebook fan pages you like.

It was our community’s most requested service, so right now, you can add as many Tumblr accounts as you like and access all your photos in one timeline. You will enjoy all your photos in our viewer and we show you all the people who liked your photos. Browse among contacts you follow on Tumblr to discover all their photos and favorite your contacts to keep an eye on their photo updates. Finally, bookmark your favorites with your playlists and share them with friends and family by email, Facebook or Twitter.

We got a lot of suggestions of photo services to integrate in Pictarine. Thank you so much! If you have photos on a service that we do not integrate yet, please suggest it by clicking on “Other photo service” on the “My Accounts” screen, we will add the most popular ones.

Organize & share your photos with playlists

Over the past few weeks, we have been quietly rolling out a major new feature on Pictarine. So if you sign into Pictarine right now, you will enjoy an easy and intuitive way to organize and share your photos. We call it “playlist”. It was inspired by the way you already organize and share your music in your daily life.

Playlists

In a playlist, you bookmark your favorite photos: you can add any photo or album to it, including your friends’ ones. So you have an easy access to the photos you really love, wherever they are hosted or whoever has taken them!

You can also build playlists around themes: photos from a memorable trip, family photos, party photos… And then, share those playlists by email, Facebook or Twitter, so your friends and family can enjoy the photos you carefully selected for them. Playlists are a simple way to create different subsets of photos: you can finally select ”safe” photos of your last trip in Amsterdam for your parents while letting your friends see the whole set!

How to add a photo to a playlist

You can add a photo or an entire album to a new or an existing playlist just by clicking on the contextual menu of an album or photo

or by clicking on the Playlist icon during a slideshow

Download and share your playlists

You can access all your playlists, in the “Playlists” item of the menu and you can download or share each one. Each playlist has a secret link and only the people who have this link can access your photos from this playlist. You have the choice to share this link by email, Facebook or Twitter. Or you can just copy the link in the browser’s address bar and share it any way you like. Your friends will enjoy your playlists with one click in a slick slideshow with no need to register on Pictarine! It is a secure and easy way to share you favorite photos.

From zests to playlists

As some of you have noticed, we have migrated your existing zests to playlists, so you can enjoy all your existing photos grouped in zests with the playlists features. We have learned a lot from your feedback on zests and we hope you will enjoy playlists!

This is part of the new “Kumquat” version of Pictarine, and you can expect more cool stuff in the next few months, so stay tuned!

We have refreshed the slideshow!

We have refreshed the slideshow design and added a cool way to navigate between your photos. First we have suppressed the info icon and moved all the relevant infos about the photo at the bottom of the screen, so you can see them at a glance. Then, we have added a new icon that allows you to navigate through all photos of the current album without leaving the slideshow (see the screenshot below). Hope you will enjoy it!

We are really glad to see that you are more and more to enjoy Pictarine everyday. Thanks for your support!

Even more photos on Pictarine!

We continue to give you access to more and more photos on Pictarine and today we are really happy to announce you new sources of photos.

Multi-accounts

We have just added the most requested feature: multi-accounts. Right now, you can add to your Pictarine as many accounts of the same service as you like: all the Picasa accounts of your family, your personal and professional Twitter accounts, or even your two personal Flickr accounts. You will enjoy all your photos in one place.

Facebook pages

From now on, we give you access to all the photos of the Facebook fan pages you like; photos from your favorite music group or events you are crazy about. Of course you can download all these photos with one click and comment them directly in Pictarine!

If you already have an account on Pictarine, you need to remove your Facebook account from Pictarine and add it again in order to enjoy this feature. Facebook will ask you to grant Pictarine an access to your fan pages and then you will enjoy all your fan pages photos.

Pictarine now also display separately all the photos from the Facebook pages you administrate. It’s now easier for you to access these photos.

Invite your friends

You love Pictarine and you want to share it with your friends. We have added a button on each of your Facebook and Google friends “Invite to Pictarine” so you will be the first to tell your friends about this awesome service!

Check all these new features on Pictarine!

Merry Christmas: new version "Kumquat" has arrived!

We have the great pleasure to announce you that Kumquat is now online. We are really proud of what we have built based on your feedbacks. We hope that you will enjoy it. Better photo presentation, more organization and serendipity at the same time!

We have rethought the interface to make things simpler on Pictarine. Tell us what you think about it!

Timeline

Imagine your photos and your friends photos from your favorite services or devices: your computer, Facebook, Flickr, Google+, Instagram,… all in one timeline! Pictarine organizes for you all these photos: go back in time and live again your favorite moments, discover your friends last photos updates and interact with them. You can now also search for any photos: enter “wedding” and see instantaneously all the weddings’ photos from you and your close friends. Try this awesome experience right now!

Photo-sharing is changing on Pictarine

We are changing the way you share your photos on Pictarine. With your feedbacks, we have realized that zests were not fitting your needs. So we have removed the ability to create new zests. You can still enjoy and download your existing zests and your friends’ zests, accessible from the navigation menu. Thanks to your answers to the survey, we are working on new features regarding sharing. So stay tuned and if you have any request on this, feel free to email us at contact@pictarine.com

Photobucket, Shutterfly and MobyPicture on Pictarine

We got a lot of suggestions of photo services to integrate in Pictarine. Thank you so much!

New services

We have integrated Photobucket a huge photohosting service, Shutterfly a photoprinting service and Mobypicture a photosharing service that lets you share your photos with you favorite social sites. You now can enjoy all your photos in fullscreen slideshows on any browser including iPad and download your favorite photos on your computer with one click, to have a safe copy at home.

Vote for the next service

If you have photos on a service that we do not integrate yet, please suggest it by clicking on “Other photo service” on the “My Accounts” screen.

Behind the scene....

This week-end, Guillain, our Art Director came in Paris to design with us the next version of Pictarine “Kumquat”. You have pruned your Pictarine tree.

Two weeks ago, we sent you a survey to discover what you really like in Pictarine and the problems you encounter everyday with your photos. We received more than 500 answers from you, that was awesome!
Pictarine.com as an iPad app

The iPad’s Safari browser gives you the ability to add home screen icons which automatically open your favorite web pages. This is how to create a Pictarine icon very easily and enjoy Pictarine.com as an app. From your Safari browser window, navigate to Pictarine.com, tap on the plus button located at the top of the screen. A menu should now be displayed on top of your Safari browser window. Select the choice labeled Add to Home Screen and select the Add button. You shortcut has been created and you can now access Pictarine.com directly from your iPad’s home screen.

All your Instagram and Twitter photos in one place

Today, Pictarine welcomes two new services : Twitter and Instagram

Twitter

From now on, you can access all your photos from Twitter, wherever they are hosted: Twitpic, Yfrog, Lockerz (former Plixi) and the new Twitter hosting service.

Just authorize Pictarine to access your Twitter account, and we automatically collect all your recent photos from these four services so you can see at a glance all the photos you have snapped with your mobile and shared on Twitter. At any time you can refresh your memories with your Twitter photos.

Pictarine allows you to download your recent photos from these Twitter services : you can have a safe copy on your computer at any time.

Instagram

From now on, you can access all your photos from Instagram. You can view or download all of them with a click. An other great feature we added, is the access to all your Instagram friends’ photos. As we have already done with Facebook, Picasa and Flickr, photos are grouped in an album per friend so it’s really easy to discover and download amazing photos from your friends. Enjoy it!

Reshare your Twitter and Instagram photos

Imagine you attend a great week-end with your friends and you take nice pictures with your camera. And you snap some pix with your phone and upload them on Instagram or Twitter. And of course all your friends do the same. Wouldn’t it be great to get all these photos in the same place?

From now on, you will experience a brand new feature on Pictarine : you will be able to mix your photos from your phone and your camera in a single virtual album. You can invite privately groups of friends to view, comment and add their own mobile or camera photos too.

How does it work? Just create a Zest on Pictarine (the virtual album) and you will be able to mix your photos from Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Picasa (google+ instant uploads included!), Flickr and these hosted on your computer. The interface remains as friendly as before and you can still share your Zest privatly with your Facebook, Yahoo and Gmail contacts. They will be able to add their own photos from their camera or phone too.

This is something new to allow people to easily access, mix and share the photos they have taken with all their devices and wherever their photos are hosted. We really think this is the beginning of a new era for the photo-sharing. Hope you will enjoy this feature!

This is the second video tutorial.
You gave us a lot of feedback on the earlier version and the major drawback was that you could not upload your photos directly from Pictarine to your favorite service. We have been working hard on that, and this was definitely not a piece of cake :)

We finally built a new technology based on Java, that allows you to directly access the photos on your hard disk into your browser. This is the first time local photo folders are so well integrated in a web page. We are really proud of that and we hope that you will enjoy it ;)

Just a few words about the features based on that technology. You can explore and see in slideshow all the photos from your computer, and you can upload them to Flickr, Picasa or Facebook. Pictarine can even access your camera or you smartphone if it supports the USB mass-storage standard (Android phones and most reflex cameras). The thing is Pictarine is now your portable photo friend, which helps you everywhere. Whether you are on a trip or at home, you can upload your photos to your favorite service directly from your browser, really fast.

We wanted you to have a full access to your photos, so we made things easier on photo saving. Saving your photos from Facebook, Picasa and Flickr is now a child plays: with one click you get an entire album on your computer and always have a safe copy at home.

The beauty of upload/download on Pictarine is that it is really fast and it allows multiple uploads or downloads. At the same time, you can upload photos to a Facebook album and download Flickr albums. You do not have to worry about that anymore, Pictarine takes care of everything in the background for you. You can focus on your photos and with whom you want to share them.

This is what we wanted to change in the photo world: hassle-free upload and photo-sharing. And guess what, we just did it! Easy uploads to Flickr, Picasa and Facebook combined with groups of friends invitations made the trick! We hope you will enjoy it.

Check out all the new features

Invite up to 25 friends from everywhere !

Your zests are going to be really crowded now !

We know that you took a lot of pictures during the summer and your are eager to share them with a lot of friends. So we upgraded the maximum friends limit from 10 to 25 per zest. Enjoy !

Invite who you want

Some of your friends are not on Facebook ? Or they just have an email that is not a Gmail or Yahoo address ? Invite them easily by adding their name and email address directly in your Pictarine’s contacts.

How to add a contact ? Enter your contact’s first-name, surname and email and you can now invite him whenever you want. So feel free to invite your friends !

If you added your gmail or yahoo account to Pictarine, it has collected all your Yahoo and Gmail contacts email addresses. So of course you don’t have to remember the exact address, Pictarine will make it easy for you by suggesting addresses given the first letters you enter.

Your friends can see your zest in one click

Your friends no longer have to register on Pictarine to see your pictures. They receive a secured invitation that allow them to access your zest. They are only one click away of enjoying and commenting your pictures. They can as easily add their own pictures if they want to.

Yahoo!

In addition to your Facebook and Google contacts, Pictarine now integrates your Yahoo’s contacts : in one click we collect automatically your profile and your contacts. Add this account in your settings and share your photos with who you want among your Yahoo contacts.

And many more goodies to discover

We improved the way you connect to Pictarine. It is now faster, easier and always secure.

Create and manage multiple zests simultaneously. In the zest kitchen you are now able to manage up to 4 zests at one time.

Customizing your username and avatar is now live on Pictarine. Upload a fun avatar! We also delivered some bug fixes from your feedbacks. Thanks again !

The coming month will be rich of innovations that will make online photo sharing easier than ever. Stay tuned !
